Translation and Editing by a professional translator

I am a native English speaker with a BA in English and French and an MRes in French from the University of Exeter, as well as a DPhil in French from the University of Oxford. I have been translating from French to English professionally since 2007. I also offer a proofreading and editing service for documents that have been written in or translated into English by non-native speakers. Given my own academic background, I particularly specialise in academic translations in the arts and humanities, but I have also translated legal documents and  business reports and proposals.  I have previously worked in the health, education, and construction sectors, so am familiar with specialist terminology in these fields.

I have spent a number of years living in France, most of them in the Cantal, an area that I have loved ever since I first visited in 1998. I am particularly keen to work with local businesses to help them bring their products and services to a wider audience.

Working directly with a translator offers certain benefits to clients - it tends to be cheaper (after all, I don't have the overheads of a large translation agency), but also it allows me to communicate with you directly should there be any queries concerning your translation. I take pride in my work and always like to work closely with my clients - my aim is to ensure that your meaning is accurately reflected in your finished translation.

Rates are calculated based on the number of words, the complexity, and the urgency of the text to be translated.
